Elbow materials are cast iron, stainless steel, alloy steel, malleable iron, carbon steel, non-ferrous metals and plastics. The connection modes with the pipe are: direct welding (commonly used) flange connection, hot melt connection, electric melt connection, thread connection and socket connection, etc. According to the production process can be divided into: welding elbow, stamping elbow, push elbow, casting elbow, butt welding elbow and so on. Other names :90 degree bend, right Angle bend, love bend, etc.

Butt welding elbow can save space, reduce weight, more important is to ensure that the joint parts will not leak, with good sealing performance. The compact flange size is reduced by reducing the diameter of the seal, which will reduce the cross section of the sealing surface. The B value of the 45 degree elbow is the structural size, mainly for the convenience of pipe designers.

For manufacturing and inspection, the measurement of B value is not very convenient. There are two relatively simple methods to detect the value of B, one is to use the commonly used measuring 45 degree elbow check, make 45 degree Angle, and with each specification of the larger and smaller value, the butt welding elbow is placed in the check; The other is to use a common height caliper to measure directly, and to convert the dimensions.

Push elbow needs normalizing + tempering heat treatment, machining port, wall thickness should leave burning loss and machining allowance, the general allowance is 10%-20% of the theoretical wall thickness of elbow. The smaller the ratio of the wall thickness of the elbow to the section diameter D, the better the fitting performance with the mold, the push elbow, pressing elbow, hot pressing elbow, but the inner arc of the elbow is more prone to instability and wrinkle.
